Deaf: severe auditory impairment, lacking in the sense of hearing, unable to hear, partially or wholly deprived of the sense of hearing, lacking or deficient in the sense of hearing, not able to hear, inability to hear, diminished sensitivity to the sounds normally heard, insensitivity to sound, no sounds are heard, loss of ability to hear, not able to detect sound, degraded hearing, unaware of the presence of sound, sound not being processed, sound is not reaching the inner ear, dysfunction of the ear, not having the full power of hearing, disorder affecting the ability to hear, cannot hear, cant hear, no hearing, diminished hearing, hearing loss. Ive said it every way I can think of to make the stupid people understand. My kids cant hear. They are deaf. You cant talk to them as you pass them in the hall and expect them to respond, you cant give them an amplification device and expect it to cure them, they dont suddenly have the ability to hear just because you are inconvenienced by their needs. 146 down, 41 to go.
