Dear 04401-Centered Social Media, I understand youre angry. And a lot of you are saying (justifiably) naughty and negative things. And that anger and resentment is understandable and, frankly, needed in the short term. I feel ya. HOWEVER... Theres a long-term. We also live in a city. A damned good, honest,hard-working, creative, community-centered city that doesnt run... and sure as shit doesnt lay down when something cool-yet-fleeting does what cool-yet-fleeting-things do: move or end. I dont get any pleasure from other peoples failings or short comings. I really dont. Especially if all parties are trying their damnedest to salvage something theyve all worked hard at. I DO take great pleasure and pride being a citizen of a city that has maintained a unique, tough, and welcoming identity for generations. Were fighters. To paraphrase the words of Oliver Queen in regards to our hamlet This is what we are. This is Who we are. Come Hell or High Water. If we deny it, we deny everthying weve ever done.
