Dear All, It gives me immense pleasure to communicate to you all after taking over the office of PSG Alumni Chennai Chapter. The new team is excited and looking forward to more activities. We are chalking out a plan to make the Chapter more active and participatory in more social, cultural and entertainment activities. We have framed a new theme for the coming years. "Let connect together for Us and Others". "Us" - Means for PSG Alumni and "Others" - For the Society. As we go along, we will share the new vision for the Chennai Chapter and the activity calendar for the coming months. We need all your support to make this a successful one. In less than two weeks, we will come up with a detailed plan on what we would be doing in the coming months. Kindly hold on until then. The reason for jumping this email is, there is a huge Beach (Coastal) Clean up happening on June 16th. This is being conducted along with Chennai Trekking Club towards the World Environment day. Last time we had 2500 Participants cleaning up the whole beach. Imagine to have a cleaner beach and send a message to keep the environment clean and the contribution by PSGians. Be part of the history in this huge clean up act to leave a better environment for our future generations. As we are speaking, we have close to 80 + Companies, NGOs, Schools on board totalling 5500 Volunteers. Come, be part of this epic clean up activity. End of the day, We need to clean up the mess we made. We will have John Victor do the coordination from our side. His number is +91 9884510954. You can also confirm your participation via email to psgtacc.chennaichapter@gmail. In the subsequent emails, I will provide more contact numbers, if John is not able to handle the volume. Kindly spread the word to other individual year groups, if you have any. We would request you to participate at Panayur near VGP Golden beach. We can provide transport for you from any location in the city. We would provide garbage bags and gloves for the volunteers as well as breakfast/refreshments. We just need your time from 6 am in the morning to 10 AM on 16th June. Kindly look forward for more details on this email in the coming hours. This is being inaugurated by Saidai S Duraisamy, Mayor, Chennai Corporation and Vikram Kapur, Prinicpal Secretary and Commissioner. Volunteers will be picked up at 11 assembly points across the city: Adyar- Rainforest - 5:30am Ashok Pillar - Udayam Theatre 5am Egmore Railway station 5:15am Guindy circle Mount Road opposite railway station 5:15am Kottivakam - Bharat Petroleum bunk 5:30am Koyambedu -petrol bunk opposite CMBT 5am Marina lighthouse lighthouse 6am Tirunmangalam signal Anna Nagar West bus depot 5am Tirunvanmyur Adyar Bakery 5:30am Velachery opposite Vijayanagar bus stop 5:15am Besant Nagar Eliotbeach 5:50am Looking forward to an active participation.
