Dear All, The conference team would like to wish you all a Happy New Year and we hope that you are all looking forward to coming to Dublin for EAC9 next week. We also want to take this opportunity to give a few updates. Firstly, due to a massive demand in the past week week all online registration is closing today. While we would love to welcome all those who would wish to attend we are restricted in the numbers that we can accommodate. We are excited to announce that to date we have some 170 participants from all over the world participating in this years EAC. Registration for the field trip to the National Heritage Park has also closed. Unfortunately, this means that those of you who have not already booked will miss out on this aspect of the conference. That said, this does provide us with the opportunity to offer an alternative field trip on Sunday 18th January 2015, at 12pm-5pm, to the National Museum of Irelands Archaeological Museum here in Dublin. The museum features displays of prehistoric, Viking and Medieval Irish archaeology and material culture, but also Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Cypriot archaeological treasures. This is a must see for anyone visiting Dublin, especially those interested in experimental archaeology. Lastly, for any of you who are arriving on Thursday 15th, we will be having a meet and greet in the Merchantile Bar on Dame Street, Dublin. This is an easily found, city centre pub. Brendan (who will be wearing a name badge!!) will be will be there between 7pm – 10 pm so please come along if you are free. Other than that we are looking forward to seeing you all next week! Regards, Aidan and Brendan ucd.ie/archaeology/eac9/
