Dear Anty Rosaline, I received your mail some couple of hours - TopicsExpress

Dear Anty Rosaline, I received your mail some couple of hours ago and felt so jubilant by the contents.I am indeed happy that you are doing so well in far away London and that despite your busy schedule, you still find time to communicate with lesser mortals like us.This is quite commendable. There is something about western capitalists that is remarkable;they are humble and level headed.Unlike their African counterparts who are loquacious and also garrulous with a swagger of pomposity.I therefore applaud your humility, that having arrived, you have not forgotten me. Anty, the last paragraph of your letter is a bit sobering. This is because I dont really know how to effectively answer your question about conditions in nigeria.Anty,we are living in difficult times.Life is good just for a handful. The remaining of us are at the mercy of politicians. We have become their crowd any day any time for a fee.In fact journalist refer to us as rented crowd.Anty do you blame us?That N5000 they give us to attend their rallies for a semblance of crowd puller is something that most of us cant earn in a year. Therefore it is a great palliative for a lot of us,especially when one considers the arithmetic.PDP pays the highest. For presidential rallies, they give us N5k.Governorship attracts N3k,Senatorial rallies is also N3k,while other legislative rallies are N2k per person.APC is not doing badly either.APGA and Labour Party even though stingy still gives something. With this Anty you can effectively contextualise the crises at hand. I am sure,if you have been current with the news, you probably might have read how some journalist and a few university lecturers have been abusing us because we collect bags of rice before voting for our benefactors who gave us those small bags of rice per 5 person. In trying to make mockery of our common sense, they refer to our action as stomach infrastructure Anty, how on earth would anyone blame us for collecting rice before we vote.?Infact in one of the elections PDP gave us uncooked rice and APC gave us cooked rice,in our wisdom,we voted for PDP because the uncooked rice will last for one week, longer than the cooked rice which is just for the moment. If you are saying that we should vote for ideas and not stomach infrastructure, which of the parties possess any form of ideology, when we know that it is turn by turn choping that is happening in nigeria. I will advise that you delay your home bound journey to nigeria for some few months, because presently, there are grave security implications. You know this is a period of kidnapping. If Boko Haram should catch you,you are on your own.One million Nigerian sojas no go fit release you from them.Infact if you should shout for help,Wallahi all our sojas would take cover. Also if you move down south, and the militants catch you,all Ya dollar from London don become ransom be that. And I wont want you to end up as poor as we are in nigeria.I know you cant survive it.You cant survive keke napep, when you are used to cruising in the best of underground trains in London. You cant survive the craters on our roads when you are used to the smoothness and silkiness of M25 orbiter motorway of London. Therefore my advice to you is to still stay put, until the road is clear. And when will, that be? Honestly Anty,I cant assure you of when things are gonna be better. Before you left nigeria 30 years ago,we had no light.Uptill today there is no light. While you were growing up in nigeria about 40 years ago,we had that colonial locomotive train,up,till now that is what is plying Lagos-Kano route. The public primary and secondary schools you attended free have vanished from the surface of the earth and have all been replaced by schools that we all cant afford. Our hospitals are glorified consulting clinics. All our intellectuals have found solace like you in various white mans countries. The justice system is for the highest bidder.Police are too antagonistic to the common man,yet they worship and do the bidding of the capitalist. In other words, justice in nigeria is not blind. The thing dey see korokoro with her two naked eyes.We in nigeria are more confused than ever. The Muslims thinks the Christian is his enemy and vice versa.Every body is seeking public office on the platter of ethnic affiliations and nobody is talking about merit...Anty rather than come to nigeria to stay inside this confusion, cant you come and take me away,so that at least london whether will make my skin to become fresh and assume the colour of choko milo...couple with some pound sterling in my pocket...Who no wan better things???
