Dear Audrey Burnett fan club, I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers and encouragement. My daughter has been pronounced in remission and is coming home to West Virginia today. I must admit it feels bittersweet to know the road is coming to an end. It seems like yesterday when the doctor told me the news and I was staring at my daughter, the way she was right then, for the last time. We had just gone in the scan room with butterflies on the ceiling and daddy went in the big donut with her. She was so happy. I remember her so thin and frail. Puking her guts out hundreds of times. I remember many of my family and friends visiting us to help us through the dark times. I remember the pancake festival at Emily Burnetts old job Happy Days Cafe. Clay County raising thousands for her by doing an auction. Mostly, I will never forget the day of Audreys surgery. Everyone in my Kanawha Valley Church went to pray in the chapel. Those prayers, your prayers, and Gods love have gotten my family through this. It pleases my heart to know Audreys suffering was not in vain. Many of us have been brought closer to Him. That was all I was asking Him for...And He said, Abba, Father! All things are possible for You. Take this cup of suffering away from Me. Nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.
