Dear BRUU Members and Friends, This Sunday, June 1, we are having a very special service at 10am. The Rev. Scott McNeill, Ministerial Candidate for BRUU, will be delivering his sermon entitled Love Grows One by One. This is part of Rev. McNeills candidating week. This morning, the children’s choir will remind us that by reaching out and showing love to one another, the world can change. On this first Sunday of candidating week, our worship will reflect on the love we receive and the love we give. For those of you who are new, or just who need a refresher: In the Unitarian Universalist faith, we democratically elect our ministers. Nobody just appoints us one from above; we do this work ourselves. This is a key component of our 5th principle: The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large. (You can read them all, should you wish, at uua.org/beliefs/principles/index.shtml) Reverend McNeills candidating week starts on Sunday the 1st and lasts through Sunday the 8th, where well have a special Congregational Meeting to vote on his ministerial candidacy.
