Dear Bangladeshi community members in Adelaide, I believe most of you are already aware that many Bangladeshi Temporary Residents (TR) who applied for Permanent Residency (PR) recently through 887 visa subclass have been currently waiting for longer time without any outcome from immigration dept. We have cases who have been waiting for more than a year which is very frustrating! However, applicants from other nationalities who have gone through similar visa stream are having successful outcome with shorter period of time. As such, few of Bangladeshi applicants raised their frustration and attempted to find out the authentic reasons for such long waiting period without an outcome (!). With the help of Wasim Saeed bhai, they met Senator Alex Gallacher to raise their concerns and explained the difficulties during bridging visa. As a consequence, Senator Alex Gallacher has requested Hon. Scott Morrision MP (Minister for Immigration and Border Security) for his advice in this particular issue. I have attached the letter herewith for your kind information. As a number of community members are facing similar difficulty, I thought I might share this in our fb groups for wider circulation ....so that we all know what’s happening. I would like to thank Wasim Saeed bhai for his kind support for the coordination and to take this concern to right authority. I will keep you updated on any further progress on this issue.
