Dear Beloved Brother; George Kennedy Omondi, It was on this day - TopicsExpress

Dear Beloved Brother; George Kennedy Omondi, It was on this day four years ago at 7:35 PM, that dad called me saying 'Your brother has gone into a coma, but he will be okay.' I wondered how because it was only a few minutes earlier that I was told you were watching the 7:00 PM news. Around 8:10 PM, Junior, our brother called me with those chilling words I wished never to hear,'Omondi ame die!' It did not sink then until two hours later when they came and told me they have left you refrigerated at the Chiromo morgue. I was like how? The guy who I saw keep warm with his blanket every day at home? Why have you left him cold? What happened? I was shaken. I have never been so shaken before in my life. I remember I used to ask you so many questions, and you never failed to give an answer. When I was in high school, you were my mentor, you helped me fill my ID forms, you helped me fill university forms and by the way you were not there when I joined, and you should have seen me graduate; at least you. You used to throw me up when I was a kid in the air and I would laugh my heart out. I used to come to you every morning to consult over this and that, sad that I may still be in denial because so many times I have woken up saying I need to talk to you, I shower preparing to go see you only to realize that you are dead. Long dead! So many adjectives to describe the feeling, none of them funny. I really miss you my brother. Rest In Peace.
