Dear Ben N, The game was rigged in their favor, but the greedy - TopicsExpress

Dear Ben N, The game was rigged in their favor, but the greedy union bosses at the United Auto Workers (UAW) still lost -- and now theyre crying foul. You may have heard that a couple of weeks ago, the UAW lost a union certification vote at a Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee, despite a backroom deal with the company designed to limit the voices of independent-minded workers. All who value workers right to free choice owe gratitude to eight courageous Volkswagen employees, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review noted. As you may remember, your National Right to Work Foundation provided free legal aid to that group of independent-minded workers fighting back against coercive tactics and other improprieties in the UAW hierarchys card check process. President Barack Obamas biased National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) looked the other way at the union-management collusion, but Im certain the secret-ballot vote would not have taken place had we not stood up for the workers and exposed the card check sham in the press. And make no mistake, we wouldnt have been able to do so without the courageous workers who stepped forward or without the generosity of Right to Work supporters like you. But Im afraid this battle may be far from over. You see, even though UAW union bosses rigged the process, now theyre asking for an election do-over. Their multi-million-dollar, years-long, intimidation-fueled campaign wasnt enough to convince workers to give them monopoly-bargaining power -- and now they refuse to accept the result of the secret-ballot election. And because Volkswagen management aided and abetted the UAW hierarchy, Im afraid no one else will defend the workers choice to remain free from union control. Thats why five Volkswagen employees, with free legal aid from Foundation staff attorneys, moved to intervene at the NLRB. We cant let UAW bosses and the biased Obama bureaucracy get away with changing the rules and tossing out election results until they get the results they want. When management and union bosses collude at the expense of individual workers, those workers are seemingly left without defense. Thats why Im so grateful your support has enabled the Foundation to keep these workers informed of their rights and provide them with free legal aid. Without your continued support, these workers would otherwise stand alone. Thank you. Sincerely, Mark Mix
