Dear Boston sports friends: A few of you know the correlation - TopicsExpress

Dear Boston sports friends: A few of you know the correlation between where I live and how Boston sports team perform. For those that don’t ponder this: From 1983-1996 I lived in New Hampshire. With the exception of the 1984 and 86 Celtics, Boston sports were a miserable failure, including the total embarrassment of the 1985 Patriots at the hands of the mighty Chicago Bears in the Super Bowl. The infamous Bill Buckner/Red Sox collapse also happened during this time. The Bruins were mediocre at best and the Celtics were winding down their early 80’s dominance. In 1996 I left New England and lived elsewhere in the country. During this time, Boston sports began to prosper and in the 2000’s Boston won Championship after Championship in all 4 major sports and pretty much dominated the national sports scene. I returned home to New Hampshire in 2011. Since my return less than 2 years ago the Patriots have lost a Super Bowl, the Red Sox suffered a miserable 2012 season and the Celtics have now lost the 2nd winningest coach in their history. Sorry to disappoint you Boston fans but the Bruins have no chance of winning the Cup this year. Not because they aren’t talented but because history says so.
