Dear Bristol Press and the Fine People of Bristol, I thank you for the opportunity to share... AS a person who knows first hand why people, especially those with families should never whistleblow or the better term, to Stand Up for anothers child in the State of Connecticut, I can say that its absolutely awful Its so very negative an experience... For some, it cant be helped, its in our DNA.. Just like eye or hair color, there are those who would engage in the Christie Bridgegate Scandal and those who would refuse.. There are those like at Penn State who would choose football wins over letting anothers child shower with Sandusky and then there are those who refuse. Then there are those like Michael Suchopar. The reason why I choose at this time to not call the number you have provided is because, 1. the press release that you provided the people of Bristol regarding Mikey Suchopar was so shameful, that I find it hard to fathom that no one fact checked it..( yes, I know that was then ) 2. Its an election year and people are quick to point to political affiliations as a cause for behavior when in fact, the pathology that creates these situations is just human behavior in us all.. 3. I have been in enough of those closed door meetings that as I step into this negativity again, its really best that some things that involve everyone, should be honestly shared that way... 4. Like what former MVP Ryan Braun did to his business partner and friend, Aaron Rogers of the Green Bay Packers, there will be plenty of people who will be unwittingly used.... 5. I dont throw people under a bus and I will send a link that if you would like to discuss how the release was not fact checked, give me a direct name so that when I call, I know who to ask for.. Next I did not catch the Lake Grove Report till May 2013... It has taken time to get this going because of the donations and desire for a new center...I did not want to mess that up for the kids and the people of Bristol. Please remember that people donated to the name of the National identity of the Boys and Girls Clubs over the name of any one man... People like Martin Sheen, Denzil Washington and Shaq to be associated, all contribute to standing up for other peoples children... Please understand that in todays world, a great way to make money off the poor is to build them stuff... I feel bad for the VIP who was quoted with encouraging people to invest in the smarts and vision of Michael Suchopar because obviously she was not aware of Andrew McClain, Barbra Benito, the closing of Elmcrest or the words of the most honorable Milstein and most honorable Senator Blumenthal regarding Lake Grove.. Also closed thanks to Mikey... Programs did not even exist and Massive taxpayer waste.. profound misery Over 80 pages long... I chose to wait and as it would be, I started this off on March 22, 2014, in honor of Andrew McClain and the belief that his passing really should have done more to raise awareness that was sustainable... Options Unlimited anyone ? Dr Reardon of ST Francis claim ? ( For the record, I have the utmost respect for those employees and my only gripe is directly focused on 4 key people in leadership. People cant help where they are born and certainly cant help who their boss is... I actually was kicked out of Rn School with a semester to go,,,, After being told that I could be headed for clinical as ST Francis, it was probably a mistake to write down that I do not want clinical at ST Francis. On the positive side, I did score in the mid 90s and topped at 97 percentile on the national test to get in... I can say that much : ) . That Christie Bridgegate Mentality of person can infect any field including education and healthcare. OH I Almost forgot, Mikey was the Elmcrest Director of Nursing and used to be a RN himself... Standing up then like now, is also about the staff or employees anywhere that get stuck in situations where they have to break the law in order to keep their job... In the State of Connecticut it should be obvious that if the STate can not back the guaranteed rights for the weakest, how strong do you thing your worker rights are ? Everything that you are going hear about, was in fact guaranteed by somebody to not ever happen. ) Also for those not so informed, soon after the national tragedy of Andrew, Mikey gave a national promise to set benchmarks for caring and yet, the 2nd consent decree was a mirror regarding other peoples children. If the death of someone on your watch, never mind if or not its due to your own incompetence, happens to not be enough for you to do your job as a human being, then nothing will. Ask yourself if it would matter to you or not because I have only so far found 3 in this world who really did not give a ____. People are also quick, by human nature to place DCF children in there own little boxes.. The fact is that on the Saybrook Unit, the day Andrew was crushed to death in a restraint gone bad... if you had Private Insurance with a fancy jingle, guess your where your kid was too ??? The people involved in that time out room, should have never been in that position in the first place.. It was an accident by those staff but the environment was a Let them Eat Cake mindset of the leadership... Elmcrest and St Francis of then, to eventually be included.. ( if you honestly do not know something is wrong, Its understandable if people ignore, but its another thing entirely when you are repeatedly aware of violations that keep people , staff, parents and patients safe and still do nothing ? What do you call that kind of mentality ? What kind of person is that ? Why dont people report problems in the system ? Really ? ) People talk about helping those with Mental Illness and fate is a funny thing. Its is an election year.. Better People Make Better Leaders.
