Dear Brothers, We the safety batch of 2009-2013 have come up with a proposal to develop the auditorium of our newly constructed Safety block. The initiative was mainly taken in memory of our deceased friends Rajeev and Vishnu, who passed away in an unfortunate bike accident during our second year . We are extremely glad to inform that our proposal have been approved by PVC, CUSAT. Copy of the same is attached here. Support from Madhu Sir ( SOE Principal at present) and all our department teachers helped us a lot in getting the Sanction from University Administration. As a part of our proposal, we are undertaking the interior works of auditorium including Stage, Podium, Curtains, Fans, PA System, Stage Furniture and Painting as phase-1. The estimated budjet for phase-1 is 2 Lakhs, and hopefully we will be starting the work within a week as phase-1 is under our reach. In phase-2, plan includes provision of Chairs with writing pads for the attendees and Carpeting of floor. From the quotations received from local market , a Standard Chair with writing pad costs around Rs 3600/-. Total Estimated cost of phase 2 is around 4 Lakhs ( 3600X 100 chairs = 360000 + floor carpet = 40000). Such a large amount seems to be a little difficult for us as a batch within a short period and we are looking forward for support from our seniors so that we can complete the work as Alumni of Safety and Fire. We believe that we owe to do something for our department for the height we have achieved now. This work will stand out as the contribution of alumnis of Safety & Fire Engineering.
