Dear CAFETY, I am engaged in an open dialogue that I would love to have someone from your group chime in on! It started as a personal post by Chaya Grossberg, and was continued to another page (will post the link within an hour). The dialogue is about what some of us older folk refer to as the c/s/x movement (consumer/survivor/ex-patient of psychiatric services movement). The thread is full of rich history, as well as a wealth of emerging new voices, from a variety of world views. There is some struggle within this dialogue on how to proceed from here, coming from, for some, THIRTY + years of advocacy efforts to bring about a healthier mental health system and create sustainable alternatives with far greater promising outcomes. WE, admittedly speaking for myself, need your voices here. yes, I said you ;) We need your youthful energy & brilliance. Plus, it occured to me, you (I am just guessing) would love to meet some of these folks, (even if just virtually, if not already done so), for their stories (each and every one of them) are treasures that ought not be lost.
