Dear CRC Member Countries, It is with great pleasure to announce the renewal of the website of the Commission for Controlling the Desert Locust in Central Region (CRC) in compliance with the recommendation made at the 28th Session in Saudi Arabia, November, 2012. The new version of the website has been achieved in cooperation with RNE-Knowledge-Management team- Cairo and has been designed to promote greater collaboration between the 16 CRC member countries as well as encourage extended cooperation between FAO Locust Commissions in the Eastern (: fao.org/ag/locusts/swac/), the Western (clcpro-empres.org/) Regions, FAO (fao.org/ag/locusts) and Desert Locust Control Organization for East Africa dlcoea.org.et/ The website contains information about, the Commission, member countries, Desert Locust, CRC report and documents (Commission session, EMPRES programme, workshops reports…etc.), assistant tool (eLert and DelCopa), regional institution and partner links and media center. The site has been designed in a way to meet new and expanding needs and requirements as these arise. Initially, the site is in English but it is hoped that it will be available in Arabic end of this year. The site is maintained by Mr. Essam Khalifah and myself. Member Countries are encouraged to provide content for the site. All comments and suggestions for improvements are most welcome and highly appreciated.
