Position: ELECTRICAL PERMIT ENGINEER Location: Saudi Arabia (Al Khobar) with some travels in Middle East Duration of Project: long term contract Status/ Rotation: Resident with family or rotation 3 months x 2 weeks Experience: 10 years" experience in substations/HVDC maintenance and/or commissioning required, among which 5 years in maintenance of substations of 132KV and above Other: We provide accommodation, transportation and a food allowance Role: Primarily a technical and safety role, with limited hands-on. Will be in charge of preparing the permits, and assessing the risks and hazards related to the maintenance works performed in live substations GIS 400kV and HVDC back to back station. This includes permits for routine maintenance, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, cleaning,... The works are performed by maintenance team under the project manager responsibility. The Electrical Permit Engineer although reporting to the Project Manager is independent in the decision to stop/freeze/postpone a maintenance activity in case of any risk is identified or works are performed without all required safety measures. He has the complete responsabilty from electrical risk point of view and HSE of all the staff of the Contractor as well as Subcontractors.
