Dear Carol I am so sorry this has taken me so long but I came home to kitchen renovations (planned) and a frantic time at work (somewhat unplanned!). I had a wonderful time in Montefalco. The accommodation was just perfect and every meal a delight. Giuseppe and co made me feel one of the family which is great when you are travelling alone. I can’t praise Julie enough – I have told people back home, spending time with her was like catching up with a close, old friend I hadn’t seen in years but had so much to catch up on and was at perfect ease in her company. This again, made travelling alone so easy. I spent less time with Aldo and Christine but equally enjoyed their company and found them so easy to spend time with and chat with. As for the scenery and places I visited and experiences I had I don’t really need to tell you as you have lived them all. But it was a well thought out itinerary which gave me great insights. The lunch with the truffle farm family and farm workers has to be a highlight. I am still slightly gobsmacked by the traditional weaving – it was like seeing the Industrial Revolution pass by my eyes.
