Dear Cellmates, I think it is about time I formally introduced - TopicsExpress

Dear Cellmates, I think it is about time I formally introduced myself. Dr. Doug has referred to me in various blogs and posts on this site but I have yet to make a comment. My name is Uta Sboto-Frankenstein, Uta for short, or Dr. Uta as Dr. Doug likes to call me . I am a neuroscientist and a researcher and I have followed many of your stories for a couple of months now. I feel like I know many of you but also a bit like a “voyeur”! So let me tell you something about who I am and what I am doing for Regenetek. Throughout my career I collaborated with the medical device sector and I am currently an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biopsychology at the University of Winnipeg. Early in my academic path I studied the inflammatory process after spinal cord injury using histology and immunohistochemistry. In the recent past, I worked with the National Research Council of Canada for over 15 years where I was part of an amazing team developing new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologies. I conducted anatomical MR investigations, functional magnetic resonance imaging and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) on healthy participants and patient populations. Basically these are all techniques to learn more about brain and spinal cord anatomy and function. I am very interested in applying my knowledge and the techniques that we’ve developed to learn more about how the Combination Therapy Protocol (CTP) impacts the Central Nervous System and more importantly, YOU, the patient participants in this study! You can see that many of my previous interests and clinical activities intersect with those of Regenetek Research. We researchers may have some “quirky personalities” because we do not like to say very much until we are 100 % certain that our data backs us up. Studying the data from preliminary patient outcomes and reviewing the literature of how Regenetek came to develop the CTP protocol, I must say that I’m more than impressed. And the patients here are certainly writing about their outcomes every day. The Regenetek research team is now working together to publish the early outcome research and that is what I’m working on. Forgive me if I am not that great with Facebook…(I am learning..). You must appreciate that I have been hidden away in labs for years and ‘Facebooking’ was the last thing I was concerned with. This research is certainly much different than what I previously worked on, as here we must follow-up and communicate with a world-wide patient population base. Your homes and physiotherapy clinics are now our ‘lab’. So for two months I have been reviewing your personal data, learning about stem cells, the CTP and asking many questions (too many?? never too many!! .....) I am very excited to be part of the Regenetek Research team and I am continually inspired by your stories! I hope everyone belonging to this page continues to follow it and our research as it is published. Yours truly, Uta Sboto-Frankenstein, PhD
