Dear Chief Justice Herb Yazzie, Thank you for your wise wisdom - TopicsExpress

Dear Chief Justice Herb Yazzie, Thank you for your wise wisdom and compassion for our Dine. I am honored as a Dine citizen that you are recognized as a great legal scholar and student of law, and deeply respected by some of the greatest legal minds, law institutions and universities in america and the world. I am also proud that you are one of the greatest legal indigenous scholars the world has ever seen. Your great knowledge of Navajo Common Law, ceremonial life, and language is the foundation of our legal system. Through your great sacrifice, and untiring dedication to Dine, you have helped our Navajo court system to be very respected by indigenous tribes in america and many nations of the world, but most importantly the western based courts within the states, and counties, who have praised your legal intellect. I say to those who say that you are easy to be sold out is ludicrous and misinformed. To assume that you are a pawn for President Joe Shirley is laughable. Mr. Herb Yazzie, I admire your compassion and heartfelt concern of the state of affairs or our Dinetah. It is too bad that practicing Dine attorneys who are sitting in the Navajo Nation Council, and lawyers at the Navajo Attorrney Generals Office do not respect nor honor your well seasoned legal opinions based on the laws they created, and laws they implemented. As a member of Dine Nation I stand with you and support your wise wisdom and compassion for those who came before you, those who ridiculed you and defied the Navajo Supreme Court. I also say thank you for holding your ground and being fearless from misinformed political candidates, allies, and supporters. I see that you were an Attorney for DNA Peoples Legal Services and was legal counsel for the Kayenta Township, a school board member of the school at his community and later a member of the Executive Board of the Navajo Area School Board Association. Your service as military veteran, serving a tour in Vietnam as an Army lieutenant is an inspiration to me and thousands of our Dine. Dear older brother my prayers are of protection from those who threatened you. I send you prayers of peace and blessings. I will continue to support you in your deep concern for peace and harmony on Dinetah. I am also thankful we have such a good man of untiring dedication of mind, and heart serving our Dine and Dinetah. Respectfully, Norman Patrick Brown
