Dear Children and young people, Please improve your language - TopicsExpress

Dear Children and young people, Please improve your language skills and STOP writing in Roman Urdu! Either learn to write or speak English properly or learn to write and speak Urdu or your native language properly (Punjabi, Pashto etc). Over the past few years Ive noticed the rise of SMS language. This has resulted in the rise of poor English as well as poor Urdu and clearly shows a dangerous state of our language skills today. People who cannot write, read and speak any language properly are actually considered jahils and illiterate. Even if youre a doctor or an engineer, if you cannot speak, write and read English or Urdu or your native language properly, then Im afraid youre not educated at all. The current generation are slowly shifting in this direction. We strongly discourage the use of roman Urdu. Either post in English (ABC...) or post in Urdu or your native language (...ا ب پ). Do some serious efforts to improve your language skills. One of the biggest complaints is that Nastaliq script webfont is not available on the internet which has discouraged the growth of our native languages since many dont feel comfortable with Naksh script. Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto, Balochi, Dari, Farsi, Kurdi and most other languages in Pakistan are written in Nastaliq. In Iran nowadays, many official government websites ended up adopting Naskh script for Farsi but in Pakistan we resisted Naksh. Luckily for us, Google has announced it has developed an early Nastaliq webfont in November 2014 and is still currently being tested. This preview font can be downloaded from the Noto homepage or the Noto repository, and is also available as a webfont on Google Fonts Early Access. I encourage everyone to download it. - behdad.org/urdu/ - googledevelopers.blogspot/2014/11/i-can-get-another-if-i-break-it.html
