Dear Clemson Students and Fans: What does “Solid Orange” mean - TopicsExpress

Dear Clemson Students and Fans: What does “Solid Orange” mean to you? To me, Solid Orange is about pride in our school and being a good ambassador for Clemson. When you wear your orange, you represent Clemson as surely as our football players and coaches do. Wear it with pride, and be mindful of that responsibility. We are all getting excited about our First Friday parade, ESPN’s GameDay broadcast and the big game against Georgia. On Saturday, Clemson will be in a bright spotlight on a big national stage. Our team will defend its Top-10 pre-season ranking on the field, but remember that our fans are defending a title, too! According to Southern Living, Clemson hosts “The South’s Best Tailgate.” We earned that title because of our spirit, hospitality and great family atmosphere on game day. I write today to remind you that the visiting team and its fans are guests in “our house” and at our tailgate. Please help me welcome them in true Clemson fashion. Be polite and greet them warmly. Help them find their way around campus. Treat them and their families with respect, as you would want to be treated. Be loud and proud in cheering for our players. But don’t steal their honor with bad fan behavior. Make our team as proud of you as you are of them. We definitely intend to win the game Saturday night. But in every other way, let’s give the Georgia fans their best away game experience ever. Be safe and have fun out there. Go Tigers! --Jim Barker
