Dear Clint Ryan, My brother, I would like to take a moment out of - TopicsExpress

Dear Clint Ryan, My brother, I would like to take a moment out of my busy schedule to educate you on a little thing called life, and respect for your elders. I seen what you have written to my grandmother and I disapprove one hundred percent. You are a disgrace. Let me tell you something, you are lucky I am not back home to beat some sense into you the old fashioned way. When I was in a combat zone for a year in Iraq I came across several experiences where the only thing I wanted to do was to talk to a loved one, so what did I do? On January 29 2008 a few days after we had been hit by a roadside bomb and my friends were evacuated via helicopter with life threatening injuries, I called our father for someone to talk to. He answered drunk and hung up on me when all I wanted to do was talk,.... my grandparents answered and listened to me cry over the phone. Later into my deployment an individual had shot himself in the head with an m16 rifle, and was found dead in his combat housing unit, with his blood dripping down the walls, I was one of the first to respond to the situation. When I came back from Iraq I found out our mother had been attempting what that same soldier was able to do. I broke down in tears, and the first person that listened was my grandparents. While I have started traveling I have tried to communicate with our father, he answered the phone drunk. I tried communicating with him about trying to help me with obtaining proof of my Canadian citizenship, he said no worries Ill give you a call tomorrow.... That was four months ago. I have even offered to fly you out to Australia to obtain a job and better yourself, and leave behind what you commonly know as the norm but you have chosen to reside stateside. So as you can see there is a very obvious pattern here. I try to communicate with so called family, and they turn their back on me. I communicate to my grandparents and there isnt a hesitation regardless if Im in a combat zone or halfway across the world backpacking. They will be there for me because they love me. This is your first and final warning, if you ever speak to your elders in that fashion again with the verbiage that you have previously used, I Spc Patrick Thomas Ryan, Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran 2008-2010 will personally revoke the freedom of speech in which I have fought for and watched my brothers bleed for with my bare hands, because if you ever speak to your grandmother that way again that will be the last thing you will be able to say! I hope you are the religious type because if you ever speak to my grandparents like that again you will pray that you were dead. P.S. Please dont interrupt my travels by making me fly back stateside and utilize US military hand to hand combat training against you for disrespecting my grandmother again. I wouldnt want to break your little arms. ;)
