Dear Colleagues, NGO TRAINING SCHOOL MODULE I TOPIC: RESOURCES MOBILISATION & FUND RAISING Introduction Raising money and resources for NGO sometimes could be difficult, most especially, when you don’t have the technical know-how, and conducting research on prospective institutional donors can be an overwhelming process so many NGOs don’t know where to start. This training will discuss some basic approaches to effective donor research methods. A key focus will be on how to mobilise resources and how to use a variety of free internet tools to identify new international grants for your NGO. The research techniques covered in this training will focus on identifying grants for NGOs around the world, including: foundations in the Nigeria, USA, United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, and Germany; government donors; and the European Commission. A case study will be used in this interactive training to demonstrate how to identify and research new donors for your NGO. Who can participate? This entry level course is ideally suited to NGO staff, fundraisers, job seekers in NGO sector, who want to build their fundraising capacity, executive directors/NGO managers who are responsible for donor relations, and, individuals who want to develop their professional skills and effectiveness. Methodology The course will be delivered in Four Saturdays, starting from 29th June, 2013, at Edo House, Central area, Abuja, Nigeria.
