Dear Colleagues and Friends, The Pacific Invasives Initiative - TopicsExpress

Dear Colleagues and Friends, The Pacific Invasives Initiative (PII) team is delighted to announce the launch of our new on-line Resource Kit for Invasive Plant Management. The Resource Kit is a practical guide to assist invasive plant teams (i.e. decision makers, project managers, officers and field crews) to apply informed decision making in the prioritisation, design, development and implementation of effective invasive plant management programmes, thereby, increasing their chances of success. The Resource can be accessed at: ipm.pacificinvasivesinitiative.org or from the revamped PII website: pacificinvasivesinitiative.org The Invasive Plant Resource Kit provides access to current knowledge and best practice process and tools. The focus is on Pacific Island Countries and Territories. However, the Resource Kit will also be useful for other regions working on invasive plant management. The PII Resource Kit for Invasive Plant Management was designed by combining PII’s experience working with Pacific agencies with existing best practice for invasive plant management. PII actively involved invasive plant specialists and Pacific practitioners throughout the development of the Resource Kit to ensure the content is both accurate and relevant. The Resource Kit is freely available on-line. An electronic off-line version can be obtained from PII on request ([email protected]). PII has also developed a 10-day Invasive Plant Management Training Course in association with this Resource Kit . Please contact PII if you would like more information on the Training Course at: [email protected]. The Resource Kit for Invasive Plant Management and Invasive Plant Management Training Course were prepared by PII with invaluable assistance from the New Zealand Department of Conservation especially, Glen Coulston, Keith Briden and Pete Raal and Stella Associates, the training consultants especially, David Wallace and Tony Stella.
