Dear Colleagues in the Accountancy Profession: Warmest greetings and peace. We all know that the mission and practice of the accountancy profession thrive in the principles and application of good governance – transparency, fair presentation, accountability, and objectivity among others. The institutionalization of good governance in the Accountancy Profession will enhance our stature as CPAs in the public arena and civil society. Because of the significance of the Accountancy Profession to the Philippine Economy, the Professional Regulation Commission through the Board of Accountancy and PICPA have partnered since 2006 with the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA), a non-stock non profit corporation which advocates making governance a shared responsibility. The Roadmap for the Accountancy Profession in the Philippines was developed and aligned with global best practices and the principles of good governance. A Final Note Achieving the INSTITUTIONALIZED level will bode well in our professions preparation for the ASEAN Economic Integration in 2015, and foster unity among the CPAs by collectively striving to attain the strategic objectives. Further, this will serve as a constant reminder and inspiration to the Filipino CPAs in all parts of the country and abroad that good governance is worth our efforts, and alive and well in our hearts and minds. This is not a project of PICPA only but of the Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy and the other sectoral organizations: ACPACI, ACPAPP, GACPA and nACPAE.
