Dear Community Partners, This Sunday, August 31, Aquil Basheer, Executive Director of A Better LA and author of the informative new book ‘Peace in the Hood: Working with Gang Members to End Gang Violence,’ will present “A Comprehensive, Solution-Based Conversation and Booksigning,” the second in a series of community panel discussions to be hosted by the Stentorians organization at the African American Firefighter Museum in Los Angeles. Communities are desperately seeking answers to the many disturbing incidents that are in the media today. Sunday’s event promises to focus on solutions, featuring an experienced panel of experts in the fields of violence prevention, mental health, public safety, media, academics and research. Please come and get your questions answered, but most important, you will leave with empowering information that may help save lives. The event and parking are free.
