Dear Council Members, I am writing this letter as a formal complaint regarding the deplorable physical condition of Church Road, Gambo. Just this week, I was faced with a $600 repair bill on my brand new car, as a result of damage caused by the road. The underside of my car was struck while passing over a deep rut in the road, not surprisingly adjacent to the lot used for commercial machinery. As a result, the condenser in my air conditioning unit was smashed and has to be replaced. I believe I speak on behalf of all of the residents on Church Road, when I say that we are tired of the complacency with regard to dealing with the serious problem of the condition of our road. I am a relatively new resident of Gambo and a new homeowner on Church Road. I have spoken with many neighbors regarding the issue of the road, and many concerns have been raised such as; damage to hardwood flooring in homes due to grit from the roads coming in through windows, furniture damage due to the same, vehicle damage, etc. From what I understand, an application for funding to pave our road had been made by council. I trust that appropriate measures are being taken by council to push the approval of this funding. In the meantime, I will be keeping a photographic record of the conditions of our road. We are also talking of forming a committee of concerned citizens, in order to draw more attention to this issue and help to move things along. Thank you, Pamela Martin (21 Church Road, Gambo)
