Dear Daughter, Thank you for informing me that you have found a young man that has caught your interest. Now that you are settling down in marriage; I would love to pass some nuggets of wisdom to you concerning marriage. Please pull a sit, as we have a cup of tea, I will share with you seven (7) skills that you need to nurture as a lifestyle to have a successful marriage. Each day we will address one skill at a time. After these sessions, I will ask you to tell the young man who has proposed to you to come and get his portion too. First and foremost, a Successful Christian Marriage is based on the word of God. The bible is our manual. Why the bible? Because (2 Timothy 3:16) Tells us - All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for TEACHING, REBUKING, CORRECTING and TRAINING in righteousness. Therefore my daughter, Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8) A wise woman build her house but a foolish destroys it with her own hands.(Proverbs 14:1). Then how does the wise woman build her home? She buildeth her home through Wisdom, Understanding and Knowledge. My dear, KNOWLEDGE will guide on you WHAT to do, UNDERSTANDING will guide you on HOW to do it and Wisdom will guide you on WHEN to do it. These three (3) are the pillars of your home. (Proverbs 24:3-4). 1. BY WISDOM A HOUSE IS BUILT To ask God for wisdom implies that He can deliver. The Bible plainly states, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding” (Proverbs. 2:6). It warns, “There is no wisdom and no understanding and no counsel against the Lord” (Proverbs 21:30). In other words, if worldly “wisdom” contradicts or goes against God, it is false “wisdom.” Only God’s wisdom stands. - (Psalm 111:10) - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. - (Proverbs 31:30) - Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. # - My daughter, May wisdom be your portion. 2. THROUGH UNDERSTANDING IT IS ESTABLISHED - Where then does wisdom come from? Where does understanding dwell? (Job 28:20) - And he said to the human race, “The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.” (Job 28:28) - But it is the spirit in a person, the breath of the Almighty that gives them understanding. (Job 32:8). #-My daughter, may the Lord God almighty breathe in you, understanding. 3. THROUGH KNOWLEDGE ITS ROOMS ARE FILLED WITH RARE AND BEAUTIFUL TREASURES. - Choose wisely the knowledge you feed on, it can destroy or build your home. - The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out. (Proverbs 18:15) - Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6) - Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I trust your commands. (Psalm 119:66). My daughter, let this be your prayer all the days of your life; and the Lord shall honor it. #- Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. (Acts 17:11) Let this be your portion, my daughter. This is enough for today; I was just touching on the foundation on which to build your marriage on. Visit me tomorrow for another cup of tea and I shall share the 1st Skill that you need to nurture in your life for a successful marriage. Yours Loving Mum, Famu Bridal Showers #thebibleinspiresme
