Dear Delegates of UNHRC, Firstly, I would like to congratulate you on being selected in the UNHRC 19th Session of the Universal Periodic Review at VITCMUN 2014. The very occasion of this council being simulated for the FIRST time in India makes it a very special one. To begin with, the Executive Board has structured the proceedings of the council in such a manner which will make your experience more on the lines of that of an United Nations Conference rather than a Model UN. The detailed procedure will be explained on the first day before the commencement of formal proceedings. We acknowledge the fact that this will be a committee which will witness deviations from standard Model UN procedure but we will make sure that the deviation results in a more sustainable debate. Also, the council will be strictly following the mandate of UNHRC. Make sure you are prepared for heavy articulation and are ready to put in hard work for the 3 days. We expect high level negotiations and lobbying amongst delegates in the committee. First Timers, Dont be worried.
