Dear Detroit Bikes, I am wondering if you can help me pull together a little grass roots gathering of all of the bike groups in the city, for our formal unveiling of the Emerald Necklace Master Plan for biking in the City of Detroit? We are thinking May 16th to invite 3-4 members of each group with their significant others to ride/drive up to the ole Faygos Brother Mansion/Palmer Park for a meet and greet/presentation of what we have been working on all of these years. We are thinking a open house from 6 and a presentation @ 7 pm. Dan from Motor-City Brewery would provide the suds and we will in-turn provide scan discs to each group with a full color printed copy of the Plan. Attendees will see a map of all of our explorations that have inspired us to complete and publish this work. All of the citys Parks, Green-spaces, Pedestrian overpasses of all freeways, Great Neighborhoods, Virgin Forest, Virgin stands, Non-Complete-Streets biking routs as well as the full 100 k emerald necklace tour, being revealed. We thought it best to give it all away to the people who are on the ground with us as I believe real change comes from the ground up. My hope is you can help me Identify groups such as yours to invite. Detroit Bike City, Wheel House, Slow Roll, Tour De-troit comes to mind but I am sure there are others you are aware of which may benefit from such an encounter?
