Vodacom launches two App competitions to give local developers the opportunity to showcase their talent. The first of these contests is the Vodafone AppStar Ideas Challenge 2013. We would like to give those of you who have innovative Ideas for apps a chance to submit your ideas and win smartphone devices. The AppStar Challenge is a two stage contest which has a local and international leg. In the local challenge, the top three finalists will be rewarded for developing innovative apps. The top two local finalists will also get an opportunity to compete against international participants from other competing countries (South Africa, Kenya, India, Egypt & Tanzania). AppStar Challenge entries must be linked to one or more of the following areas: health, education, local entertainment, games and utilities, and run on either Android or Java. The competition starts on the 19th September 2013 and closing date for App submissions on the 25th October 2013. There are GREAT and AWESOME prizes to be won in both rounds.
