Dear Dr. Johnson, I am an English professor at City Tech, one of the CUNY colleges, and I was fortunate enough to hear you speak at the Brown vs. Board of Ed. commemoration at Medgar Evers. My colleague and I were truly awed by your presentation--your invocation of relevant history in Durham and mentioning that you were the one friends chose to drive; your observations of the cultures that allow leadership; and the social inequalities that continue to this day.
