Dear Dublin families: We have much to celebrate and be grateful - TopicsExpress

Dear Dublin families: We have much to celebrate and be grateful for this spring, including the upcoming opening of our stunning new Center for Performing Arts and Education at Dublin High School and now the great news that Measure B has passed with overwhelming support from our community. We have received the certified results from the Alameda County Registrar of Voters Office. They indicate that Measure B, the renewal of the parcel tax that has provided such important funding support to our district for the past five years, passed with more than 79 percent of the vote, once again driving home the unparalleled commitment that our community shows in supporting our students and schools. The passage of Measure B allows our district to continue to focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education, expanding programs and class offerings, attracting and retaining the highest-quality teachers, upgrading instructional materials and technology and providing pathways for our students to help them to become college and career ready. As comfortable as the margin turned out to be, this election victory was “hard-won”, and we are especially grateful for the tireless work of Measure B Committee Chair Jean Josey and her dedicated team, all of whom who worked incredibly hard to make this possible. “I’m grateful to the citizens of Dublin for recognizing how important this Measure is to our students,” Josey said. “I can’t say thank you enough to our volunteers, who worked so hard to get the word out about what Measure B is and the impact it will have on our schools.” We also want to thank our parent volunteers, teachers, support staff and district leadership, who spent hours at phone banks and on precinct walks to convince our community that Measure B was crucial for our future success. Currently, we are preparing detailed plans on how to implement the specific goals of Measure B. We will be communicating those plans in the very near future. Once again, thank you Dublin for your support. We are, as always, honored and humbled by your confidence in our schools and our students. Sincerely, Dr. Stephen Hanke
