Dear ERHS Parents, My name is Andy Julian, and I am the new - TopicsExpress

Dear ERHS Parents, My name is Andy Julian, and I am the new assistant principal at East Richland High School. During the first few days of school, I have been very impressed with your sons and daughters and their attitudes. This is a great school and the students have been displaying the Core Expectations of ERHS Students: • Respect • Responsibility • Work Ethic My observations over the first few days are leading me to ask for your help with a few issues. I have found that being straight forward in my communication with parents gets things done and is a key to success. My hope is that this is a first step of positive communication that produces action. 1. Please remind your sons and daughters that it is very important to get to school on time and to return from lunch on time. 2. Please remind your sons and daughters that no outside food or drink is allowed in the building. This includes bottles of water, soda, etc. that are not opened. Students may bring their lunch to school but those items should be in their lunch box and not be opened until lunch. Students may purchase drinks from the vending machines, JROTC store, etc. during the school day. 3. Please remind your sons and daughters that hats and sunglasses are not to be worn inside the school building before and during school hours. This is simply “old school” respect. 4. Please remind your sons and daughters that their clothing should be appropriate and not disrupt the educational process. Honestly, we have many girls that wear shorts and skirts that are simply too short and too tight. If it helps, please use this simple guideline: • If you look at your student’s clothes in the morning and think, “This may be a violation of the student dress code”, it is probably a violation of student dress code. Your instincts are usually right. Thank you for your support of East Richland High School and helping us to honor our mission of: “Excellence in Teaching and Learning for Each and Every Student!” Sincerely, Andy Julian ERHS Asst. Principal
