Dear Everyone, Lately I have been hearing a lot of people talking about Ebola. A lot of the conversation is about how stupid the CDC is and how it will kill us all. For some, they even throw in that it is the disease that will kill people as part of the end times and that we need to be prepared for the coming destruction. To these people, I just have one thing to say. How many bologna sandwiches do you have to eat to be that full of bologna? Now let me be clear. Ebola is a dangerous and scary thing. It COULD break out and cause a pandemic. Thats why the people working on fighting it need to be careful and be swift in dealing with it. But that doesnt mean its going to happen or that we should worry. We get most of our information from news media. And you know the number one concern of news media is? To make money, mainly through gaining viewership. Thats why you see Breaking News Alerts all day long about the most mundane things. Outrage and panic sell, and thats why they are covering ebola the way they are. They scream crisis so that you watch and they do it all the time. Anybody remember swine flu or the west nile virus? Remember how the news media played it up? Remember how everyone was saying it was the end of the world? Last I checked, we are still here. And Im not going to get excited about Ebola until something ACTUALLY happens, and neither should you.
