Dear Excuse-Making Patriot Fans, Innocent Until Proven Guilty only applies within a court of law. This incident stands alone, and has nothing to do with any other acts by any other teams. It also has nothing to do with any naivety on MY part, as I also assume that other teams find ways to cheat and seldom get caught. I also assume that many others drive intoxicated and dont get caught. I also assume that many people shoplift and dont get caught. Exactly how much corruption does the average Patriots fan wish to excuse in order to showcase their perceived superior awareness of what others do? I saw Bradys press conference. He was definitely in on it. He definitely lied, and many will now justifiably view him as a low quality human being. This isnt just cheating, it is theft; as many peoples financial livelihoods hinge on the outcomes of these games. The only way to limit corruption is to punish it whenever it can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt (were already well past that point). Digging for ways to excuse bad behavior only exacerbates the problem. I just hope he gets to play in the Superbowl. He deserves the inevitable cheating chants and the resultant shame...
