Dear FB friends, September 11, 1988 was the most traumatic day of my life. It was the day my mother died suddenly of a massive heart attack right in front of my eyes. It was the day I had to call my siblings and tell them our mother was dead. It was the day my children, just little guys at the time, lost their grandmother and I became an orphan. And then, several years later, September 11, 2001 brought a whole new level of meaning to the date. I will never forget the lives I touched and those who touched mine in such profound ways...victims, family members, friends, and even those who just could not process their anxiety at the time. It was two years of my life that forever changed me. I found myself feeling a bit crabby these past few days. Consciously, I tell myself it was a long time ago... I worked through so much. But the insidious nature of trauma doesnt quite let us get away with anything. Sending love to all.
