Dear FB friends and family! TLCSSR needs your help! I dont know if our followers realize that our rescue is basically just Laura up in CT and myself down in GA and several amazing board members and of course our extended family of fosters and volunteers! But the expenses we incur fall mainly into our laps as we get no funding of any kind other than through the generosity of our donors and through our fundraisers! We recently took on a couple of special needs cases and we need your help! Please read their stories... Hi my name is Mystic and I was pulled from a rural GA shelter they say at the last moment!!! Not sure what that means but no one ever came to take me away from there so I dont know. Im thinking no one wanted me because I am black and also because my back leg wasnt working just right. But then this really nice lady came in and spoke to me and told me that I would have my chance and she took me out of there! She talked real sweet to me and I felt safe for the first time in awhile. They took me right to the vet and found out that I had been hit by a car and hadnt healed properly. I forgot all about that because it was awhile ago. I remember it hurt really bad... but I got used to it. It turns out that my femur bone was broken completely off the ball that fits into the hip socket. YIKES!!! So I needed some type of surgery called an FHO which was going to cost a lot of money. Well, they did get me that surgery and I am feeling pretty spry and my future looks really really good... but the nice folks at the rescue now have this huge bill to pay! So, if anyone would be so kind as to help them out, I would really appreciate it!!! My life would have been miserable without this surgery and now I will be able to run and play and live the life I always hoped to... once I am all healed and adopted into a wonderful home!!! Please say a prayer for me and I hope to meet you real soon when I get up to CT!!! My picture is below! And hi my name is Atticus and I am told I look like a pure bred German Shepherd! I dont know and it is really hard to tell right now because I have not been taken care of and I almost have no fur on my face and chest and legs!!! And I also have some kind of infection on my skin which is really yucky. And, I am also really really hungry!!! The vet the nice rescue folks took me to said I was at least 25# underweight... if not more!!! I guess that is not too good? So I have to take these pills twice a day and the great part is that I am getting about four meals a day and that is just so awesome!!! But the medicine to help me get better and the special baths I am supposed to get and all this great food is costing lots of money so my rescue angels could use everyones help with the bills!!! I wish I could help with paying those bills as I am so happy to be out of that shelter and getting all this good food and I am even starting to feel better and better! Please pray for me, as well as for sweet Mystic, so that we get better very very soon as both of us cannot wait to find forever loving homes of our very very own!!! My ugly picture is also below. :-( And we recently pulled a puppy from the shelter that has been diagnosed with parvo and is hospitalized as I type!!! They say things happen in threes so maybe this will be it for any special needs cases for TLC Sweet Souls rescue for a while!!!
