Dear Facebook Acquaintance, So, you do not believe in God. You find it preposterous that we pray to statues and saints; it is absolutely ridiculous to believe in the power of prayers and even more laughable to hope and believe in miracles. Pointless, you say...as Science can not even prove that God exists. But guess what? Evidence may aid in belief but it is not a requirement. The act of seeking inner peace (and hoping) is innate in all of us, after all; even to you who is godless so you have NO right - NO right at all to argue, challenge and mock how people of religion choose to achieve that. God does not exist, you have theories to back you up. Very well, but I will tell you what you dont have. You do not have the capacity for respect. In this light, you are breaching the essence of your non-religion (or religion, as I am also adressing this to the religious bigots) if you do not have the ability to hold up the fundamental value of respecting differences. Our God does not exist in crosses and Churches alone; our Saints not waiting to be venerated and prettified. They are here in our hearts and minds, reminding us to be fair and respectful of people like you. So, what has your non-religion taught you? I hope indeed it is something more benign than your intolerance and lack of respect.
