Dear Facebook Family & Friends, Catch up time: Monday October - TopicsExpress

Dear Facebook Family & Friends, Catch up time: Monday October 7th 3AM the grim reaper had his hand wrapped tightly around my throat, Craig calls 911 and a great group of medical personnel arrive and there is nothing they can do for me. Craig asks them to get me into his vehicle and drives me to Sutter Medical in Lakeport so I would be close to Redwood Cancer Center for my appointment the next day. Several tests and an MRI later the results showed an abscess and another infection and Craig was told the I would not have made it if we had waited until morning which I had wanted to do. THANK YOU CRAIG! Glad I made it for my 11 year old grandson Hunter who said to his mother Where is my GMA, is she OK, I dont know what I would do if something happened to my GMA Love that boy and he is coming for a visit tomorrow I spent 10 days at Sutter and the staff and everyone there are the best and the food is really good. I KNOW BUT IT REALLY IS! I had a total of 5 procedures while I was there including removing the port which was also infected. I am home with a PICC line in my arm and every 8 hours my nurse and new hero CRAIG injects me with the antibiotic for the fistula that the Drs. want to heal without surgery. I know he is nervous and scared but he is doing a great job. He also has to care for the drain in the middle of my right buttock that is healing the fistula. Poor guy I know that 53 years ago as a young man of 24 he did not know he was signing up for this. Once the infections were cleared up other than fatigue I am feeling great and getting stronger, even doing some light exercising. My brother Ron died on Oct 12 and again I cannot go back to St. Louis to say goodbye. He was 7 years younger than me and had diabetes and kidney failure and made the decision not to hang on so he took himself off life support. We spoke one last time and he said to me Sis I just cant do this anymore. We said our I love yous and I waited for the call. Sometimes timing really sucks! Look for me out and about as I have an all clear to live my life as I wish as long as every 8 hours I am getting my antibiotic injection. Chemo is all but over I will know when I check in with Dr. Turill this week but I was told there were only 3 more treatments scheduled. Thanks for your prayers and good thoughts. They mean so much1 LOVE AND HUGS TO EVERYONE!!!
