Dear Facebook friends, My family and I will be participating in the CHaD HERO Half Marathon & Ripcord 5K on October 26th. I hope that you will consider joining us. This event is something that is very close to our hearts. Some of you may remember that Julie (now 14) was only 18 months old when she was diagnosed with a staph infection which resulted in a septic hip. We spent 5 weeks in the hospital. Sometimes we forget how lucky we are to have CHaD right in our backyard. There is another very special boy who will be participating this year… his name is Nick Coombs. Maybe you’ve heard of him. Nick has been a CHaD kid for almost 20 years and he will be celebrating his 21st birthday at the race!
