Dear Family & Friends, It is with a heavy heart that I come to you today. Sweet Austins tests revealed additional tumors on her neck & spine. Monday we head back to Charleston as the doctors outline the options. There will be a treatment for the brain & one for her neck/spine. We were praying that it was just the one spot in her brain but the MRI yesterday revealed an inch size tumor in her neck and also one in her lower spine. We are very distraught and it is really discouraging news. We meet with the doctors at MUSC on Monday morning to discuss it in more depth. From what he doc that called yesterday told Austins mom they are going to try to do a gamma knife for the one in her brain and take a sample of the one in her neck for biopsy and do 5 weeks of radiation for her spine because it can spread quickly and some of it might not have been detected in the tests yesterday. I feel so bad for her that she has to go through this again and it possibly could be worse than last time. Austin has been with my parents and I since yesterday afternoon and obviously she doesnt know anything yet so it has been tough and hasnt fully sunk in yet for me I guess because I have had to act normal around her because she doesnt need to worry about anything more than she already is until we talk to the doctors and know exactly what the prognosis is. I have just tried to spend every second with her since last night and have a great time and laugh and play games and be silly and we did talent shows and went to yard sales and shopping and am making the best of it. I love her so much and its not fair that this is happening to her. She is an amazing, caring, loving and very special child and has never had the opportunity to just be a normal kid. Please pray for her and that God will watch over her and protect my angel and she will come out even stronger than ever. She is definitely a fighter and has a great mentality about life despite all of the ordeals that she has faced. I would trade places with her in a heartbeat if it was possible.
