Dear Family... I signed up on FB to get acquainted or re-acquainted with my family. I prayed fervently about the reunification of this family. Over the past couple of years I spent time trying to figure the root of why we are so disconnected. What I come to realize is that we are hurting and instead of dealing with it, weve suppressed those feelings and have allowed it to fester into bitterness, unforgiveness, anger, confusion , and pain. Albeit, These are natural and valid emotions, I will note that Unforgiveness seems to be the common issue among us... However God instructs us to forgive. Forgiveness sets our hearts free from all those things that has imprisoned us. I know all to well how forgiveness is a slow process but weve got to start. Whenever I find myself dealing with unforgiveness I remember what it says in Matthew 18:21-22 when Peter came to Jesus and asked Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times? Jesus answered ,I tell you, not seven times but seventy-seven times. Jesus makes it clear that forgiveness is not easy for us and that there will be times where we need to forgive someone over and over again. None of us are without fault. We have all lied, talk bad about or to another , spread gossip , involved ourselves with things we shouldnt have..etc.. We are flawed people. God says in Matthew 6:14-16 For if you forgive man when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive man his sin, your Father will not forgive your sins. Although it is normal to feel anger towards the sin and injustice, it is not our job to judge the other person in their sin. So...how do we start??? Simple...WE PRAY AND FAST. FAST AND PRAY!!! LEAVE IT At THE ALTER. I say all this to say I love each and every one of you. I cannot change what happened on yesterday. I asked on this day that you all forgive me for any wrongdoing Ive done unto you. As I will do the same. My prayer is that we are all obedient to Gods will. Pray for me as I pray for you.......
