Dear Father, We lift up all who are living with uncertainty. When we go through trials, pain and grief… our world can feel like it’s in chaos…like we’re caught up in a destructive storm. Everything is a blur and nothing seems right. We can’t get our bearings. We can’t see clearly, or get a sense of when the storm will end, or what will be left standing after it’s over. It’s so hard to live in the moment, Lord. It’s hard to trust when everything seems upside down and out-of-place. Yet, that’s what you want us to do. You don’t want us to keep our eye on the storms and the destruction that they bring. You want us to keep our eyes on you. You want us not to worry or be fearful, but to trust that you have a plan. Father, we are so imperfect. By nature, fear is our natural response, not faith. May we grow in you so we can reverse that. None of us knows what tomorrow may bring…we aren’t even guaranteed a tomorrow. Our world is constantly changing. What was known and comfortable seems to be slipping away… for many of us that is happening on multiple fronts. Help us to remember Lord, no matter what is going on around us…no matter what changes take place…You are our one true constant in life. You are the compass that we can chart our course by. You are the Alpha and Omega. The Beginning and End. The Great, I AM and you hold us together as surely as you keep the earth spinning in place.We don’t have to know the outcome of things…or the reasons for things… we only need to know you. We are so uncomfortable with change, but change is one of the few constants in life. Lord, help us to cling to you…the safest place we can be in any storm, is by your side. Help us not to rush ahead… or try to make things happen on our own… or try to force an outcome that we want. We are not in control, but you are and you know so much better than we do, what lies ahead for each of us. Help us to rest in you…help us to wait on you to right the wrongs, to make the crooked paths straight, and to lead and guide us to places of safety, security and healing. Father, we give you our fears. We give you our grief. We give you our hurts and pain. We give you are insecurities. We give you our illnesses. We give you our troubled relationships. We give you all of our needs…we give you all the questions and uncertainties and apprehensions and we just lay it all at your feet and ask for your peace. We want to replace the questions with the only answer that matters..THE WHO…and that is you. Help us to look to the one sure thing we can always count on and always rely on and that is you dear, Lord. Please go before us this day Father.
