Dear Fellow American: As you prepare to go to the polls tomorrow, - TopicsExpress

Dear Fellow American: As you prepare to go to the polls tomorrow, consider these factoids: 1. Increased spending on education does not translate better results. We spend $19k per student per year here in NJ and $12k nationally. Thats twice as much (even adjusting for inflation) as was spent when I was a kid in the 1970s. Despite doubling our spending, SAT scores have declined over the same period. Vote no to bigger dollar solutions to education and vote no to the powerful teachers unions. 2. The Democrats have nothing better to run on so they would have you believe that there is a real disparity between earnings for men and women. Thus they are supporting a Paycheck Fairness Act. However, what they fail to take into account are personal choices. Some people choose to work part-time, start a family, or make other family choices that affect their earning power. 3. Every Democrat Senator in 2009 voted for the $830 billion stimulus plan which led to a record $3.5 trillion spending spree in 2009. All we have to show for it is the slowest recovery in modern history and record deficits which our kids and grandkids will be saddled with for generations. 4. Obamacare is an epic disaster which is still being defended by those who support it. Even half of all doctors give Obamacare a D or an F. Fewer than 4% give it an A. Go figure. 5. Obama and his party would have you believe that raising the minimum wage will lead to greater prosperity and lift the bottom rung up the latter. The truth is over a half a million people will lose their jobs which leads to more people on the dole and a lot of teenagers like my kids will have less chance finding a first job. 6. The left claims that Voter ID laws will decrease turnout among minorities. The truth is that Voter ID laws will decrease fraud and return integrity to the system. 7. Obama and his friends would have you believe that the Keystone Pipeline is destined to destroy our eco-system. The truth is the pipeline is significantly safer than transporting crude over rail through populated areas. It would produce 1000s of new jobs and it would cement our capacity to become much more energy independent. 8. Decide now that six years of failed policy, broken promises, and uncontrolled spending are enough. Vote for change. Thank you for listening.
