Dear Friend, Guess who has returned! Your favorite flaming hay bale launching festival of fun! That’s right! Spring Fling is back! Actually, we never left. We pushed our limits so far last spring that we had to change them! It will now be bigger. It will now be better. And it will now be in the fall. Spring Fling will be held on October 17 through October 20th, 2013. Did you notice our second thrilling change? We will no longer be limited to 3 days of revels, but will now be rewarded with 4 days of celebration! Also, when we said Spring Fling will be “bigger” we were not just specifying the duration of the festival; the Spring Fling camp out has doubled in size! This next little piece of information is pretty exciting as well… all prior registrants get in FREE! For those of you that missed the registration process in April, you can rest assured that your tickets will still be set at a low rate. Tickets are only $30 for individuals and $20 for theme camp members. (How much I hated to do this, we had to charge because of the insurance requirements, permits and other fees imposed on us by the state and county agencies.) The website will re-open for registration on July 1, 2013. Prior registrants will need to complete their registration once more. The link for registration will be released in the next newsletter. We are currently working with the fire inspector on the final camp layout, theme camp and fire shows, and lawfully permitting all fire usage. It was not nearly as painful as we had anticipated! If there is a fire installation that you would like to bring, now is the time to propose your idea! Do you plan on melting minds with loud music? Are you interested in establishing a freaky cool event? Do you want to drive your art car across the dry lake bed in your own mobile party under the night sky? If so, you will need register as a theme camp. You will not be alone though! Our theme camp list is steadily growing. The list includes: Digital APEX, 60’s CLUB, JK Lounge, The Dirty Camp, Fire Dancing Lessons by Desert Flower, and 4 art cars! To register as a theme camp, please visit our website on or after July 1st. Lastly, the trebuchet parts have been fabricated and are waiting for assembly on October 18th by our communal efforts.
