Dear Friends, 2 reports came out today which encouraged me. MOMs Report on Wage Practices showed all round real wage growth, with the rate among the rank-and-file more than matching that for the non-rank-and-file workers. The tight labour market amid continued strong economic fundamentals and more explicit NWC recommendations for the low wage workers helped. The MediShieldLife Review Committees latest update on its recommendations show that substantially more of big bills will be covered and this will then lower out-of-pocket co-payments. Together with the lifting of the age and lifetime claim caps, guaranteed universal coverage for all citizens and Governments commitment to helping with premium subsidies, the expected net increase in premiums will be reasonable. Earning more, affording better, seeing gaps narrow and inclusiveness strengthened - these are good outcomes. Lets press on!
