Dear Friends, AND Friends of Friends, Time Magazine came out with its 4th annual word banishment poll last week asking readers to do away with an array of annoying words -- “feminist” was at the top of their list! Living proof why our film, FEMINISTS: What were they thinking?, directed by Johanna Demetrakas, needs to be made. Its about awakening half the human population to full personhood and inspiring the other half to come to the dance. It’s not about politics or law, it’s about confronting culture and the personal awakening that is still going on today. We’re telling the stories of the women who came up in the second wave of feminism in the 70s into the 21st century and exploring the dialogue of today’s young women battling many of the same barriers we faced 40 years ago.
