Dear Friends, As you may have heard, last week I announced that - TopicsExpress

Dear Friends, As you may have heard, last week I announced that I am running for the seat of Alderman of the 7th Ward. Like much of my community work and advocacy, this is going to be an all-out battle until the end, as there are currently 16 candidates vying for this position. I find of them all I am the most capable, determined, energetic, and qualified for this challenge. To rebuild the 7th Ward and bring it back to life, it will take strong leadership, with creative new ideas, and determination to manifest these ideas, and bring the 7th Ward back to life. AGENDA: REBUILDING THE 7TH WARD BRICK BY BRICK * Employment opportunities for “high risk” constituents who need job placement services. * Educational programs and mentoring services to deter our youth from street violence, offering after school programs, tutoring services, sports and job training. * Economic development and growth for the 7th Ward, seeking retail and manufacturing contracts, that wish to build and develop in the 7th Ward. * Improved community services management, by extending services for our seniors, disabled including and not limited to access to food pantries, and transportation. * Restoration much needed programs for the mentally ill, severely challenged, and displaced residents of the 7th Ward. * Working in conjunction with local police and authorities to manage crime and violence. I know I have the skills, training and experience to get the job done right! I have done it before in the private sector and I look forward to bringing my leadership to the 7th Ward. * From 2008-2013 I have worked for the political campaigns of Governor Pat Quinn, Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle and Congressman Danny Davis. * From 1998-2003, I worked for New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta Georgia as the Sous Chef and Kitchens Operations Manager, where I managed the daily operations of a food service ministry, serving an average of 7500 guest weekly. * 1987-1991 I served as a corporate executive I have working as a Senior Admissions Representative where I guided young mind into career training, vocational programs and placement. I know that together we can rebuild the 7th Ward, block by block, brick by brick. But in order to do that I need your support as a financial contributor. Please consider making a contribution to my campaign… $10,000, $5000, $1000, $500, $250, $100, $50 or whatever you can give by our deadline of February 25, 2015. You can make a secure online contribution gofundme/h97oic or visit my website where you can review my agenda on campaign progress at chevettevalentine.blogspot. Over the next three months I will be visiting local businesses, senior citizens homes and talking with the voters about their vision for a better community, and how we can rebuild for the future. Together we can rebuild the 7th Ward, block by block, brick by brick! Thank You Friends of Chevette Valentine P.O. Box 490133 Chicago, Illinois 60649 chevettevalentine.blogspot
