Dear Friends, Earlier this year I took some much needed time off my design work to concentrate solely on writing music. After a month or so of completely immersing myself and working under the radar, not only did I have enough material to produce my first album, but I had written and arranged enough material to keep me busy for another five albums. Featuring the most talented vocalist I’ve ever heard, Julia stepped in and provided the exotic glue that took my scribbled down lyrics, odd time signatures and über complex changes to a level that would surpass my own unachievable high expectations. The name of our group is called ‘The Speedmasters’ and our debut album is called ‘Ranchanova.’ Our sound has a very lush, cinematic, Bossa-nova-Jazzy-Funk-el Rancho vibe. Trying to put it into a specific genre’ is impossible. Essentially this was the primary criteria for going public. It had to sound different. Producing ‘Ranchanova’, I was responsible for literally everything; from writing all the music and lyrics, playing and arranging every instrument, recording, mixing and ultimately mastering all the songs down to a final product that could be digitally distributed. I also knew I wanted to handle marketing, develop an eCommerce website and start a new record label that would keep the project completely independent and more importantly to me…completely personal. The website is up and running along with the song samples that I have put all of my blood into over the last year. I hope you are completely blown away.
